COVID-19: Novamont North America donates compostable bags to Bridgeport Rescue Mission

Novamont North America donates compostable bags to Bridgeport Rescue Mission in Bridgeport, CT, a non-profit organization who are dedicated to fighting poverty in the community. They provide free food, clothing and shelter to anyone who requires them.

On Friday 1st May, Dan Martens, Vice President of Novamont North America, visited Bridgeport Rescue Mission and brought 1000 compostable bags to assist with the distribution of groceries to people in need in the local area.

The closure of the Mission’s dining room facilities and the increase in unemployment due to COVID-19 significantly increased the numbers of groceries required and therefore increased the need for bags to carry them in.  The donation of 1000 compostable bags will enable the groceries to be distributed as part of the Mission’s drive to provide meals to people at risk of hunger in Bridgeport.

The Novamont Group has decided to take part at the extraordinary solidarity race that is mobilizing citizens, businesses and associations across the country, donating resources to support the territories most affected by the emergency.
