NOVAMONT invites you to Colonia at the BIO-QED stakeholder workshop
Opening new industrial paths for the production of biochemicals from renewable sources as alternatives to traditional petrochemical sources. This is the objective of the BIO-QED project, which will be the subject of a stakeholder workshop on May 11 in Cologne.
The project, co-ordinated by NOVAMONT and funded by the European Union within the Seventh Framework Programme, involves 13 partners from 7 countries (Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, Croatia, Spain and the United States) and it is in line with principles of the EU Bioeconomy Strategy, which aims to direct the European economic system towards a wider and more sustainable use of renewable resources, and the Circular Economy.
The BIO-QED stakeholder workshop represents an opportunity for discussion and exchange of the best practices on the developments of itaconic acid and butanediol from renewable sources and, moreover, on market scenarios for these chemical intermediates. NOVAMONT will be present with Maria Dani, Head of Piana di Monte Verna’s research center and Project manager of the project.
The workshop is part of the 10th International Bio-based Conference, one of Europe's major initiatives on products from renewable materials and their applications. NOVAMONT is a partner of the conference with its own stand where participants will be able to have a look at the company's bioeconomy model and its innovation activities aimed at the development of proprietary technologies for the production of bioplastics and bioproducts from renewable sources.
